Laser Spine Institute’s Dotty Bollinger Achieves Board Certification in Medical Practice Management

President and COO of national spine care leader earns prestigious health care certification

TAMPA, Fla.--()--Laser Spine Institute, the leader in minimally invasive spine surgery, is proud to announce that Dotty Bollinger, President and Chief Operating Officer, has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). The certification is an entity of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

“I congratulate Dotty on obtaining her well-deserved CMPE, a designation that’s representative of her dedication to Laser Spine Institute’s employees and patients,” said Bill Horne, Chief Executive Officer, Laser Spine Institute. “Ongoing education is a pillar of our organizational beliefs and I can’t think of a better role model to lead by example than Dotty.”

The designation of CMPE demonstrates that Bollinger has achieved board certification in medical practice management. Through industry-leading board certification and fellowship programs, ACMPE certified Bollinger’s professional competence when she passed rigorous essay and objective examinations that assessed her knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills. These sets were outlined in the Body of Knowledge for Medical Practice Management, and include business operations, financial management, human resource management, information management, organizational governance, patient care systems, quality management and risk management.

To achieve the CMPE certification, Bollinger also had to enroll in a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours.

Today, MGMA membership is comprised of more than 6,600 individuals who have attained CMPE or ACMPE fellow status or who seek certification.

Bollinger has been with Laser Spine Institute since 2008, and has been integral to the growth of the organization. She earned her nursing degree in 1986 from Maria College, and a bachelor’s in management and marketing from the University of Maryland. Bollinger has two post-graduate degrees that include a law degree from the University of South Dakota, and a Master’s level certificate in health care compliance from George Washington University.
