BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Calvert Investments, Inc., a leading investment manager using sustainability as a platform to create value, announced today that John Streur has been selected as its next CEO. Mr. Streur will join the firm on October 27, 2014, and assume full responsibilities on January 1, 2015.

Mr. Streur currently serves as President, Director and Principal of Portfolio 21, a boutique investment management firm specializing in global environmental investing. He is best known for his 20-year career as CEO of Managers Investment Group, The Managers Funds and Managers AMG Funds. Prior to the founding of Managers Investment Group in 2005, John was CEO of its predecessor entity, Portfolio Services Group and parent The Burridge Group LLC. These entities are known as innovators in the development and implementation of multi-boutique, multi-asset class operating platforms and ownership models.

Mr. Streur is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin (Bachelor of Science, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences) and is a competitive international athlete in the sport of rowing and sculling, winning the gold medal at the FISA World Masters Rowing Championships in 2013. He has four adult children and will be re-locating to the Washington, DC metro area from Portland, Oregon, with his wife Mary.
Mr. Streur will work closely with outgoing CEO Barbara Krumsiek through the end of the year, ensuring an orderly transition. On January 1, 2015, Ms. Krumsiek is stepping down from her day-to-day responsibilities as President and CEO of Calvert Investments. She will remain on the Board of Calvert Investments, Inc. Krumsiek has been named Founding Chair of the Calvert Institute, which will promote the growth of sustainable and responsible investing (SRI) through research, advocacy, and fostering innovation in the field of sustainable investing.
