AppDirect Powers Red Hat’s OpenShift Marketplace and Offers Developer Tools Ecosystem for Platform-as-a-Service Customers

Custom User Experience Enables Developers to Buy and Bind Add-On Services to Existing Apps Seamlessly with One Identity and Bill

SAN FRANCISCO--()--AppDirect, the cloud service commerce company, announced today a collaboration with Red Hat — the world’s leading provider of open source solutions — to power Red Hat’s OpenShift Marketplace and provide a best-in-class experience with add-on services for OpenShift Online Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) developers.

The developer capabilities in OpenShift Marketplace demonstrate the power of AppDirect’s flexible platform and advanced technology and help raise the user experience for the OpenShift PaaS community. Now OpenShift developers can more easily build applications via OpenShift and procure and bind add-on services to their existing apps seamlessly. Red Hat’s OpenShift Marketplace offers a central platform to reach customers and developers and enables ISVs to easily showcase their solutions and marketing material and complete transactions.

Users can now sign in to the OpenShift Marketplace once using their Red Hat login, simplifying the process to sign up for a separate service. With integrated billing, developers can log in, find the add-on services they need to help them build their apps and then purchase these quickly in a single click with charges appearing on their Red Hat bill. A custom binding flow, through joint AppDirect and Red Hat development, enables developers to easily bind their purchased add-on services to the apps they are building with instant integration. Developers now have an efficient way to provision, manage, bind and deploy add-on services in the OpenShift Marketplace.

“We’ve provided a self-service marketplace experience that enables Red Hat to instantly offer new value-add services to OpenShift developers that simplifies add-on adoption and drives innovation on the OpenShift platform. This directly supports our vision of building strong ecosystems where companies have the tools and products in place to build customer engagement and retention,” said Daniel Saks, co-CEO of AppDirect. “Working with Red Hat has given us the opportunity to collaborate with a true innovator in the market and offer high value for Red Hat customers and the PaaS developer community.”

“OpenShift Online strives to provide users a wide range of technology options to enhance their experience. AppDirect has continued to be responsive and flexible, truly partnering with our team on a shared vision,” said Sathish Balakrishnan, Director of OpenShift Online, Red Hat. “With the addition of AppDirect’s technology, we’re instantly providing new integration and distribution opportunities for ISVs and making it incredibly easy to engage and work with our OpenShift Marketplace and partner ecosystem.”
