NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In the wake of the most recent high-profile data breach, financial institutions across the country have turned to EFT Source, Inc. to minimize customer impact and quickly reissue replacement cards to account holders affected by the attack.
Last month, the company delivered more than three million credit, debit and ATM cards from its centralized environment. Of the monthly total, more than 687,000 were produced in the week immediately following confirmation of the breach – a 37 percent increase from its previous record. In that same time, more than 42,000 additional payment cards were printed with EFT Source’s Card@Once instant issuance solution, 10,000 of which were printed on a single day. Despite the significant increase in production demands, EFT Source maintained 99.94 percent accuracy and 24-hour turnaround on new card orders.
Since announcement of the retail giant’s breach, many financial institutions have been burdened by reissuing payment cards – not only costly, but potentially damaging to an institution’s relationships with its customers if not done quickly. EFT Source responded immediately to the increased volume and delivered fast, accurate card issuance solutions to support their customers.
“How banks and credit unions respond to data breaches during the first few days is critical to its recovery,” said Bill Dinker, president of EFT Source. “Unfortunately, data breaches will continue; therefore, financial institutions must partner with trusted organizations that help them lessen the impact on their customers and allow them to continue providing great service.”
