Umpqua Bank Wins The Hub Cup

The Hub Magazine honors Umpqua Bank’s San Francisco Flagship for excellence in the brand experience

WESTPORT, Conn.--()--Umpqua Bank’s San Francisco Flagship has won best-of-show honors in the fourth annual Hub Prize competition, sponsored by The Hub Magazine and announced at an awards dinner on October 8, 2014, at the Helen Mills Theater in New York City.

The Hub Prize recognizes excellence in the brand experience, which The Hub defines as each and every opportunity a brand has to keep its promise to its customers.

“Umpqua’s San Francisco Flagship brings an exciting, 21st-century élan to the banking experience,” said Hub founder Tim Manners in announcing the award. “It truly takes the banking experience to a new level by improving the daily lives not only of its customers but also the community it serves.”

As the Hub Prize best-of-show winner, Umpqua Bank and its design firm, Huen, are the recipient of the coveted Hub Cup, a handcrafted, solid-bronze trophy. The Hub also awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals based on evaluations by a panel of 34 judges, including leading practitioners, academics and other brand experience leaders.

The Hub Cup and Gold Hub Prize winners will be featured in the Nov/Dec print edition of The Hub Magazine, and the Silver and Bronze in its website and app.

This year’s Gold winners include Coca-Cola, MillerCoors, Citi, Honeywell, HP, Valspar Paint, PepsiCo, MTV Mobile and Nivea. Silver winners include Sherwin-Williams, Tesla Motors, Teva, Mondelez, Safeway, Kimberly-Clark, Restoration Hardware, Time Warner Cable, Mars Food and Reckitt-Benckiser, and winners of Bronze medals include Cannondale, CoverGirl, Bank of America, New Balance, Playtex, Kellogg’s and Wrigley. Entries were received from the United States, Europe, South America, South Africa and Asia.
