LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Getronics, part of the Munich-based AURELIUS Group (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8), today announces the completion of the acquisition of Individual Desktop Solutions GmbH (IDS), a subsidiary of T-Systems International.
IDS specialises in onsite desktop services and solutions for the high-profile business customers of T-Systems. IDS boasts a strong customer base across all sectors of industry, including a number of DAX-listed companies as well as public-sector institutions.
The acquisition, as well as the associated expansion of the strategic cooperation with T-Systems in the field of desktop lifecycle management, perfectly complements the existing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) segment of Getronics in Germany.
“This latest acquisition is a significant one for Getronics and reconfirms our strategy of growth and acquisition to become the partner of choice in the international ICT market,” said Mark Cook, group CEO of Getronics. “The company will be particularly important in helping us to bolster our ICT operations in the German market. By collaborating with T-Systems, we will benefit greatly from the sharing of technological expertise and the company’s outstanding sales structure. In addition to growing revenues from third party customer desktop solutions activity, our goal is to move the business towards higher value and higher margin services, with IDS focusing specifically on trends like cloud solutions and virtual workplaces.”
Following acquisition, the services provided by IDS are set to remain an important part of the overall T-Systems International portfolio and will continue to be offered to T‐Systems’ customers via a strategic partnership with the AURELIUS subsidiary Getronics.
