SAN FRANCISCO--()--Doximity, America’s largest physician network, today announced the addition of two new vice president hires to its executive team. Emily Peters, former vice president, marketing communications at Practice Fusion, joins Doximity as vice president, marketing communications to expand the company’s brand and research work. Peter Alperin, MD, former vice president, medicine and product at Archimedes, joins as vice president, connectivity solutions, where he will grow the platform’s doctor-to-doctor messaging programs. Doximity announced a $54 million Series C funding round led by T. Rowe Price and DFJ in April 2014.

Emily Peters leads media relations, trend research and marketing at Doximity in the newly created role of VP, marketing communications. Previously VP, marketing communications at Practice Fusion, she oversaw the electronic health record (EHR) company’s growth to a population of 75 million patients and $150 million in funding over the course of four years. With over 12 years of communications leadership experience in startup organizations, she is an expert in healthcare marketing, data privacy/security and strategic partnerships. Emily joined the Doximity team in July 2014.

“Emily is a true health tech communications all-star, and as our network and visibility grow, we’re fortunate to add her to our team,” said Jeff Tangney, CEO and Founder of Doximity.

Pete Alperin, MD leads the growth of HIPAA-compliant physician messaging services at Doximity in the newly created role of VP and GM, connectivity solutions. Most recently, he was VP, medicine and products at Archimedes, Inc., a Kaiser Permanente-backed startup, where he led the product team on projects including ARCHeS, a technology platform for clinical trial outcome prediction. He continues to practice today in the emergency room at the San Francisco Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Alperin joined the Doximity team in August 2014.

“Over 40,000 physicians login each week to message each other on Doximity,” said Tangney. “As both a practicing physician and two-time internet exec, Pete is uniquely qualified to lead our connectivity team; making it easier for physicians to collaborate on tough cases, patient referrals, and their careers.”
