WALTHAM, Mass.--()--Thermo Fisher Scientific, in partnership with the Sepsis Alliance, has extended its sepsis awareness outreach to Spanish-speaking communities. The Company provided funding to enable translation and subtitling for the Sepsis Alliance video “Sepsis: Emergency” as part of its Sepsis Awareness Month initiative.

The video is designed to raise awareness of the deadly toll of sepsis and what people can do to recognize and respond to the risk. The new Spanish language version includes subtitles and translated text, providing Spanish speakers with critical information on sepsis and what they can do to advocate for loved ones suspected of sepsis.

“During September, Sepsis Awareness Month, we have heightened our efforts to get the word out to all communities about this deadly and often unrecognized disease,” said Thomas Heymann, executive director of the Sepsis Alliance. “We are grateful to Thermo Fisher Scientific for their generous funding to enable us to extend our awareness efforts to Spanish-speaking communities across the U.S. This marks an important step forward in our mission to save lives.”

“We are proud to play a role in raising awareness of sepsis among people everywhere, in their primary language—during Sepsis Awareness Month and throughout the year,” said Marc Tremblay, president of clinical diagnostics for Thermo Fisher Scientific. “We are also proud of our partnership with Sepsis Alliance, which is based on a common mission to save lives by improving early recognition of sepsis and early intervention.”
