Protection 1’s Sister Company, Brite Energy, Appoints Jimmy Chuang Chief Structured Finance Officer

Industry Veteran to Lead Structured Finance Group to Help Customers Find Ways to Switch to Cleaner Energy

CHICAGO--()--Brite Energy, sister company of Protection 1, the largest full-service business and home security company in the U.S., today announced that is has hired Jimmy Chuang as its new Chief Structured Finance Officer. Protection 1 recently announced the newly formed entity last month that will bring added services to its customers in the form of solar energy.

Chuang will manage Brite Energy, powered by Protection 1 structured finance group, to help identify and build relationships with tax equity and debt investors. These efforts will enhance the ways in which Brite Energy can help consumers and businesses switch to cleaner energy at a lower cost.

Chuang brings more than 12 years of experience in the areas of structured finance, capital raising and mergers and acquisitions to Brite Energy. Prior to joining Brite Energy, Chuang held the position of Vice President, Head of Structured Finance at Solar City, one of the leading companies in the solar industry.

In addition to Solar City, Chuang was the Chief Structured Finance Officer at GCL Solar Energy Inc., the world’s largest polysilicon / wafer manufacturer and leading solar independent power producer. In only three years, he helped build GCL Solar Energy Inc.'s U.S. business from start-up into one of the nation’s largest solar providers. He has financed more than $5 billion, and more than 900 megawatts, of North American solar projects in his career. He previously held senior structured finance roles at Fotowatio Renewable Ventures and MMA Renewable Ventures, where he was responsible for acquiring, developing and investing in various renewable energy projects and leading tax-advantaged equity capital, construction financing, and permanent debt-raising efforts.
