DRAMMEN, Norway--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eltek, the world leader in high efficiency power systems for telecommunications and industrial applications today announced it has won the 2014 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Growth Excellence Leadership and Customer Value Leadership for its DC power systems and hybrid solar power systems.
The awards are based on Frost & Sullivan’s recent analysis of the DC power system and hybrid power system markets by Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Ashay Abbhi.
The analysis determined that Eltek had the highest annual compound growth rate in the industry over the last three years, which is the basis for the Growth Excellence Leadership Award. Separately, it presented the Customer Value Leadership Award to Eltek because the company adopts a three-fold approach (understanding demand, nurturing the brand, and standing out from the competition) to deliver customer value.
High Efficiency and Hybrid Solar Power Market Leaders
The
Eltek Flatpack2 High Efficiency (HE) system is the high-efficiency DC
power system market leader, setting the standard for AC-DC power
conversion efficiency at 96 percent. The company has sold more than one
million Flatpack2 HE units.
The process of converting AC power to DC power causes some loss of power, but due to their high power conversion efficiency, Flatpack2 HE units lose less energy, reducing the amount of electricity required to operate the load. This reduced energy demand also means reduced CO2 emissions and lowered operating expenses for customers.
With the Eltek Smartpack2 controller and DC inverters, customers can build a hybrid system that integrates solar power as a back up power source for cellular tower and other outdoor telecom installations. The controller manages DC power system health, and also switches between power sources – mains, solar and back up (battery, generator). Thus, an operator can use solar power to reduce energy consumption or augment back-up power sources.
