CellAntenna Announces Advanced Cell Phone Threat Control System for First Responders and Government Agencies

CPC-Vulcan system provides control of any cell phone anywhere – used to protect against cell phone use in secure areas or where cell phone threats exist

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.--()--CellAntenna Corporation announced today the launch of its advanced capability Cell Phone Threat Control System (CPC-Vulcan), which provides comprehensive cellular signal awareness in Law Enforcement Tactical situations.

The CPC-Vulcan system is capable of securing any individual cell phone or a complete area operating in any protocol, including GSM, CDMA, WCDMA and LTE, all done without jamming. The system can be used for Managed Access type denial of service in prisons, baggage screening and counter surveillance methods. The CPC-Vulcan system is a low-cost solution that provides rapid detection and identification of unauthorized cellular handsets, automatically adapting to configuration changes in providers’ cellular networks and operating in stealth mode with no possibility of detection or interfering with the carriers.

CellAntenna is an integrator of L-3 Linkabit’s WideFire technology, a cellular exploitation system. WideFire provides a modular, open architecture, Software-Defined Radio (SDR)-based capability. CellAntenna uses L-3 Linkabit’s predictive surgical technology, providing a low-cost solution for the rapid detection and identification of unauthorized cellular handsets. When WideFire is integrated by CellAntenna engineers, the CPC-Vulcan system is portable for quick deployment in emergency situations or can be connected to a Distributed Antenna System (DAS), providing full security protection from cell phone use in buildings. Combined with CellAntenna’s 100 watt per band Multiband High Power Remote Unit (CA-MBRU-HP), the system can deliver commanding control of cell phones in any area.

“With the growing threats posed by illegal use of cell phones, having the advanced CPC-Vulcan in any First Responder police department’s equipment list can protect the public and save lives,” said Howard Melamed, President and CEO of CellAntenna Corporation.

The CPC-Vulcan is an essential component of CellAntenna’s prison Guardian Service System, allowing for the cost-effective control of cell phones in prisons. Operating completely in stealth mode with no need for carrier involvement, the cellular awareness technology can identify and control any cell phone on any system anywhere. Several undisclosed capabilities exist for certain agencies that require more advanced techniques.
