SAN FRANCISCO--()--Today, newly traded Los Angeles Lakers player and Palo Alto native, Jeremy Lin, unveiled his first ever wax figure at the city’s newest wax attraction, Madame Tussauds San Francisco. The renowned athlete will start as point guard for the Lakers in the spring of 2015.

The world-renowned athlete was in awe of the similarity, commenting, “I am so honored by the way Madame Tussauds has captured me, it’s truly incredible and I am humbled by the gesture and artistry. I especially love the pose that was chosen.”

Captured in one of the most unique poses at Madame Tussauds San Francisco, Jeremy is positioned in an active slam dunk and at 6’3, he leaves guests in awe. Jeremy’s figure can be found in the southwest corner of the sports room beside Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas.

The creation of the figure was a very precise process that Jeremy was happily involved with. The Madame Tussauds studio artists take great pride in their works of art and strive to achieve complete accuracy with each figure. The studio team used photographs and captured over 200 exact measurements of Jeremy Lin’s body and face to replicate the NBA player. Details are abundant as every hair on the figure was carefully inserted by hand individually by a studio artist. In total, it took a team of more than 20 studio artists to complete the amazing figure in just over four months.

A native to the bay area and Palo Alto High School graduate, Jeremy joins the Lakers after years with the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks and most recently, the Houston Rockets. It was with the Knicks that Lin unexpectedly led a winning streak and acquired the following, known as “Linsanity”. Lin is one of the few Asian Americans in NBA history, and the first American of Chinese or Taiwanese descent to play in the league.

“We are thrilled to have Jeremy Lin participate in the unveiling of his figure,” commented Adrea Gibbs, General Manager for Madame Tussauds San Francisco. Adrea further said, “Jeremy is an incredible athlete and encouraging role model for other young athletes, particularly in the bay area. We are so excited to share his figure with the public and no longer hold the best kept secret in San Francisco.”
