TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ZENRIN DataCom Co., Ltd. released a free iPhone app, “CycleTT”, aiming to enhance the pleasures of cycling. This app was designed with cyclists in mind, especially those who love road bikes; a segment that has recently grown in popularity. Recently a new version (version 1.3.0) was released on August 7, 2014.
A “course-creation function” to register routes that users have cycled, a “trial function” to challenge courses created by other users, and more are available. Users can be notified when other cyclists follow a course they’ve set so a communal sense of cycling can be shared. With its broad functionality, this app supports a wide range of cycling lifestyles, from hard-core cyclists to casual enthusiasts.

It’s easy to register your favorite routes – either by actually cycling it or plotting it on a map.

The best time for any route created by another user can be used as your cycling target.
A virtual jersey per type of course, namely general, mountain, and flatlands, will be awarded to the top ranked rider of each within the app. You can aim for the time of the top ranked rider while recording your own.
