NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Workshare, a leading provider of secure enterprise collaboration applications, today announced its integration with HP LinkSite, HP Autonomy’s cloud-based solution for secure document sharing. HP LinkSite enables users to securely share and collaborate with other attorneys and clients on HP WorkSite documents. The partnership builds upon Workshare’s existing integrations with HP WorkSite and other leading Document Management Systems (DMS) and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) applications deployed in the legal sector.
With the integration, HP LinkSite customers can benefit from Workshare’s metadata removal capabilities, which identify sensitive data within Word, Excel, PDF, and PowerPoint files – and safely remove it before files are shared. IT groups can set granular polices that allow users to clean LinkSite shared files in a single click, or alert users that sensitive information is present in documents that are about to be shared in LinkSite.
In the May 2014 report entitled “Rethinking ECM: Content Finds Its Place In Agile, Mobile, And Growth-Focused Enterprises” Cheryl McKinnon, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research, Inc., wrote, “Mobile workforces drive demand for secure, but pervasive, document sharing. [As a result,] firms no longer manage content on private corporate networks with controlled repositories. Enterprise Content Management now includes online, anywhere access to documents in cloud or on premises locations.”
HP LinkSite users will also benefit from Workshare’s DeltaView comparison technology, which streamlines the review process and makes it easier to identify and act on document changes. Traditionally, users sending or receiving files from a third party needed to perform a document comparison outside HP LinkSite, which disrupted attorney workflow and created multiple versions of documents. With this new integration, users can compare versions submitted by clients using HP LinkSite with the previous versions in HP WorkSite and incorporate those changes back into their WorkSite repository.
