Marc Thompson and Jay Mok Join Mechanics Bank’s Commercial Banking Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--()--Mechanics Bank has announced two new additions to the Bank’s Commercial Banking Group:

Marc Thompson - Senior Vice President, Real Estate Industries Group

Marc Thompson, CRE, CCIM, FRICS, joins Mechanics Bank as Senior Vice President and head of the Real Estate Industries Group. Thompson brings over 30 years of commercial real estate and capital markets experience to the Bank. Marc will focus on leading the Bank’s commercial real estate, construction, housing and related real estate loan production and operation efforts.

Thompson was most recently at Torrey Pines Bank, where he served as a Senior Relationship Manager for northern California in the Real Estate Construction group. “We are thrilled to bring Marc on as the head of our Real Estate Industries Group,” said Mechanics Bank Executive Vice President and Director of Commercial Banking, Larry Fountain. “Marc’s extensive experience and proven track record in the northern California commercial real estate market, along with his commitment to the industry will certainly benefit our clients for years to come.”

In addition to being a published author and well regarded public speaker on real estate matters, Thompson is a founding member and President of The Equity Asset Managers Association in San Francisco. Thompson also currently serves as the Chairman for the San Francisco Chapter of the Counselors of Real Estate. Thompson obtained his undergraduate and MBA from California State University, Hayward and was born and raised in the Bay Area.

Jay Mok - Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Regional Market Manager

Jay Mok was recently named Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Regional Market Manager for Mechanics Bank. Mok joins the Mechanics Bank commercial banking team where he will lead business development efforts in the Bank’s key markets.

A nine year veteran of commercial banking, Mok comes to Mechanics Bank after serving as SVP, Commercial Lender for Torrey Pines Bank, where he was the Bank’s top commercial lending producer in the state of California in 2013.

Mok earned his BA from the University of California, Berkeley. He resides in the Bay Area with his wife and two daughters.
