August 18-20 CRM Evolution Conference Agenda Takes Aim at “A Moving Target”

CRM Evolution 2014

MEDFORD, N.J.--()--Because the relationship between businesses and their customers is constantly evolving, organizers of the annual CRM Evolution Conference face a new challenge every year putting together an agenda that is timely and relevant to changing conditions.

Organizers of the CRM Evolution Conference, August 18-20 at the New York Marriott Marquis, say this year’s event will not only meet a high standard of excellence, but will reflect the maturation of the customer relationship management industry.

“Customer strategies are being geared toward customer engagement,” says CRM Evolution Conference Chair Paul Greenberg, author of CRM at the Speed of Light and Managing Principal of The 56 Group. “The industry continues to grow, but the heart of CRM is developing and maintaining ongoing interactions in which each customer remains engaged with the company.”

The change from last year is dramatic, says Greenberg. Social channels as part of a customer strategy have become so pervasive that industry leaders no longer feel the need to make a distinction between “social CRM” and a traditional CRM system. According to Gartner, the industry saw roughly $20 billion in revenues in 2013 and will reach almost $36 million by 2017. “Not exactly an industry in pain,” says Greenberg, “but one that is never the same from year to year. Ours is an industry that is constantly growing and evolving. It’s a moving target.”

This year’s three-day CRM Evolution Conference will feature seminars, panel discussions and presentations designed to maximize not just what decision-makers need to be thinking about when it comes to customer engagement, but also what specific areas, such as analytics, social media, salesforce automation, marketing automation and customer service, have to offer.

Some of the companies represented on the conference agenda include Aetna, Angie’s List, Ask.com, the City of New York, Eaton Vance, MasterCard Advisors, the New York Yankees, the New York Jets, Shutterfly and Sony Rewards and Card Marketing.

CRM Evolution is co-located with the SpeechTEK and Customer Service Experience conferences and features the Customer Solutions Expo, a combined showcase of the leading sales, marketing, customer service, and speech recognition solutions.
