Carrington College California Changes Name to Carrington College

Regional accreditor ACCJC/WASC approves request to update institution’s name

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--()--Carrington College California has obtained approval from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC/WASC) to change the name of the institution’s operating entity to Carrington College, effective July 16, 2014.

As the starting point for health care careers, Carrington College offers a diverse range of degree and certificate programs at 17 campuses located in California, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington.

“It’s been a month filled with exciting changes at Carrington,” said Jeff Akens, president of Carrington College. “Changing our name to Carrington College is another indicator that we are operating under one accrediting body. It may seem like a small change, but it marks another significant milestone in our journey to be one institution.”

On July 3, 2014, Carrington College obtained approval from ACCJC/WASC to consolidate 10 locations operating as Carrington College into Carrington College California’s accreditation and network of campuses. Before joining ACCJC/WASC, those locations operated under the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
