MELBOURNE, Australia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of a groundbreaking global effort to scale up the number of people on lifesaving AIDS treatment worldwide, representatives from AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and other civil society organizations will convene a press conference in the Media Centre at ‘AIDS2014’—the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne—on Monday, July 21st at 4:00pm local time (16:00) to discuss successes and challenges in fighting the global pandemic. The press conference will set the stage for an IAC Satellite Session that evening titled, ‘20X20: Testing, Linkage, Retention and Funding—20 Million on Treatment by 2020,’ from 6:30pm-8:30pm (Room 109-110) of the ambitious new advocacy initiative, “20 by 20.” The goal of ‘20x20’ is to ensure that 20 million people worldwide are on lifesaving antiretroviral treatment for HIV/AIDS by the year 2020.
