SAN CARLOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NatureBox Inc., one of America’s fastest growing food brands, today announced the appointment of two executive officers to its Leadership Team: Carrie Kalinowski, Chief Financial Officer, and Michael Thompson, Chief Supply Chain Officer — both of whom were hand-picked to help further accelerate the company’s aggressive growth plans.
“I’m drawn to innovative businesses that have a larger social mission in mind; it’s what led me to NatureBox. I’m thrilled to be working with the NatureBox team to provide greater transparency and easier access to healthier and delicious food choices,” said Kalinowski. “By building a direct relationship with its customers, NatureBox is able to provide an exceptional customer experience and leverage customer analytics to provide personalized recommendations to meet each customer’s specific dietary needs and taste preferences. I look forward to continuing to build upon the company’s impressive 20X growth since its 2012 launch and supporting our recent Canadian expansion.”
With nearly 20 years of experience in the financial arena, Kalinowski has a successful track record of scaling efficient and effective high growth organizations. Most recently, Kalinowski served as VP, Finance and Corporate Controller for Silver Spring Networks, supporting the company’s worldwide expansion and leading the company through a successful S1 and IPO process that culminated in its public offering in 2013. Prior to Silver Spring, Kalinowski held various financial roles at Bookham Technology, Ignis Optics and The Walt Disney Company.
At NatureBox, she will oversee all financial operations, including corporate finance, accounting, tax and treasury.
On the supply chain side, Thompson brings to NatureBox two decades of operations leadership. Most recently, he spent eight years at Bare Escentuals, where he led North American operations and built the company’s supply chain infrastructure, successfully transitioning the company from third-party fulfillment to a 400,000-square-foot, company-operated fulfillment center.
At NatureBox, Thompson will oversee all operations, including supply chain strategy and execution, customer service, fulfillment, transportation and inventory management. He will also play a key role in overseeing the company’s new 40,000-square-foot operations hub, which is based in Indiana and will allow NatureBox to more efficiently serve East Coat consumers.
“I’m floored by NatureBox’s ability to rapidly produce and deliver new snacks light speeds faster than traditional CPGs while continuing to grow its consumer base,” Thompson shared. “I love to help companies do things faster and better, and I’m excited to help NatureBox further improve our customer experience from beginning to end.”
These new additions to the Executive Leadership team follow three key recent prestigious appointments: Kathryn Flouton as Vice President of Product Sourcing and Innovation, Scott Lee as Vice President of Marketing and David Lee as Vice President of Engineering. It also comes on the heels of the company’s recent $18MM Series B funding news. Since then, NatureBox has introduced several enhancements to the customer experience, including the NatureBox Snack Pantry, which allows users to set future snack boxes, the NatureBox Market for one-time purchases, and expansion into Canada.
