IOD Partners with athenahealth to Provide Network with Access to ICD-10 Education and Training

athenahealth to offer IOD Learning Institute, ICD-10 Gym™ and OneIOD to prepare physicians, coders, and clinicians for ICD-10 transition despite the delay

GREEN BAY, Wis.--()--IOD Incorporated, the leader in full-suite health information management (HIM) solutions for hospitals, healthcare systems and clinics, today announced a partnership with athenahealth, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based services for electronic health record (EHR), practice management, and care coordination, as part of its More Disruption Please (MDP) program. Together, the companies will work to link athenahealth’s growing network of more than 52,000 health care providers with IOD’s ICD-10 readiness program, including the IOD Learning Institute, ICD-10 Gym™ and OneIOD.

IOD’s ICD-10 readiness program provides a number of services to practices, including terminology training for coding and billing staff, online education for physicians, documentation training for clinicians and an interactive platform to share ongoing best practices. In addition, IOD’s recent accreditation as an American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) CEU-approved vendor allows athenahealth customers who are members of the AAPC to earn required continuing education credits.

“IOD’s full suite of services delivers powerful online education, mobile-based learning, community-based collaboration and real-world practice platforms to successfully position healthcare organizations to maintain training momentum despite the October 1, 2015 ICD-10 delay,” said George Abatjoglou, CEO of IOD. “Our collaboration with athenahealth through the More Disruption Please program will introduce greater value and customizability to healthcare providers already utilizing the athenaNet® program suite.”

Through its MDP program, athenahealth is accelerating the introduction of high-value innovation via the cloud, providing new services to help providers thrive in the face of industry change and pressure. MDP partners with innovators, entrepreneurs, companies, investors, and individuals—those who are passionate about overthrowing established approaches in healthcare that simply aren’t working, aren’t good enough or aren’t advancing the industry. Unlike other healthcare startup incubators, MDP invites qualified companies like IOD to gain access to healthcare providers already connected to athenahealth’s cloud-based network.
