ACG Los Angeles Named “Chapter of the Year” by Association for Corporate Growth

LOS ANGELES--()--ACG Los Angeles, a non-profit organization where Southern California executives, bankers, investors and professionals come together to share information and build relationships, was recently named a “Chapter of the Year” by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).

One of ACG’s oldest and most successful chapters, ACG Los Angeles is known for its innovative programs and prestigious speakers. Over the past few years, the Chapter has had former Presidents Clinton and Bush keynote its annual conference, introduced a rising stars program for up-and-coming professionals, enhanced its offerings to corporate executives, women members and private equity professionals, and hosted two annual awards dinners to recognize LA’s most prominent companies. ACG LA has also partnered with USC Marshall School of Business, UCLA Anderson School of Management and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. ACG LA also started an industry vertical focus on emerging tech through joint efforts with the ACG Central Texas Chapter.

“This award validates our Chapter’s innovative spirit and recognizes the dynamic group of board and Chapter members who support it,” said Gary Rabishaw, managing director of Intrepid Investment Bankers who serves as president of ACG LA. “A special thanks to the Chapter’s immediate past president, Andrew Apfelberg of Greenberg Glusker, for his vision and leadership that laid the foundation for us to garner this award.”

The “Chapter of the Year” awards were based on scoring in three areas: self-assessment, benchmark data and ACG engagement. Three ACG chapters were recognized in separate categories, based on a chapter’s membership size. In addition to ACG Los Angeles, other chapters honored this year were ACG Indiana and ACG Wisconsin.

“These chapters represent the best of the best in the past year,” said Pam Hendrickson, COO, The Riverside Company and ACG chairman of the board. “It’s not just about solid business performance, but also innovation, mentoring and supporting ACG’s mission of driving middle-market growth.”

ACG LA’s members represent companies and industries that are as varied as the neighborhoods of Los Angeles – corporate executives, commercial and investment bankers, private equity investors as well as legal, accounting and finance professionals, many of whom specialize in mergers and acquisitions or corporate development. ACG LA is well-known for its Annual Business Conference, which attracts participants from across the nation and around the world and showcases some of the most influential speakers from the business, entertainment and political realms.
