DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AO Precision Manufacturing LLC, a market leader in complex precision machining and finishing, announced today the hiring of Steven C. Torma as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Torma was the former President and CEO of Liberty Ammunition, Inc. and before that Vice President and General Manager of the Large Caliber Ammunition Business Unit for General Dynamics, Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS). Mr. Torma, 51, has joined AO Precision Manufacturing after 30 years in the munitions industry. With emphasis on portfolio expansion and product line growth, Mr. Torma will be driving the business to leverage the extensive capabilities of the Company and capitalize upon the world wide opportunities for AO Precision Manufacturing LLC.
In his previous professional positions, Mr. Torma ensured the effective execution of business plans that launched multiple new products of small caliber ammunition into the commercial and military markets for Liberty Ammunition, Inc. In his role at GD-OTS, Mr. Torma ran the businesses for Tank, Non-Standard and Small Ammunition Programs supporting PM-MAS, Artillery and Mortar Ammunition Contracts supporting PM CAS, Expeditionary Fire Support System (EFSS) for the USMC and had responsibilities for various International Programs at GD-OTS. Additionally, he had responsibility for the businesses at Scranton Army Ammunition Plant and Red Lion Facilities for GD-OTS. Concurrently with that role, Mr. Torma held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board for Defense Munitions International, a Joint Venture Company between General Dynamics – OTS and Rheinmetall Defense charged with selling the most advanced 120mm Tactical Tank Ammunition in the world. As a member on GD-OTS’s Executive Leadership Team for multiple years, Mr. Torma also served from 2006 thru 2011 as the Vice President for Small Caliber Ammunition of GD-OTS.
