Arch Virtual Plays Ball with Sacramento Kings

Oculus Rift App Developer Helps Bring Sacramento Kings’ New Arena to Life with Virtual Reality Tour Application

SACRAMENTO, Calif. & MADISON, Wis.--()--Let’s hear it for the sixth man - virtual reality app developer Arch Virtual is proving to be a clutch player for the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Sacramento Kings. Arch Virtual created an Oculus Rift headset virtual reality experience app to help promote the new downtown Sacramento Entertainment and Sports Center (ESC), which will open fall 2016.

The Kings won public approval for the project in late May 2014 and then opened an Experience Center (XC). The XC showcases the Kings commitment to sustainability, technology and the Sacramento community by providing a first-hand look at the arena’s design and amenities. Utilizing the latest technology, including virtual and augmented reality, the XC helps fans visualize the ESC in a compelling and interactive way.

The Arch Virtual app allows users to experience a realistic representation of the new ESC. The app provides users with a 3D tour of the ESC’s plaza, concourse and arena bowl, complete with an appearance from Kings Center DeMarcus Cousins.

“We are honored to help the Sacramento Kings share their vision of the new arena with potential sponsors, premium suite owners and fans alike,” said Jon Brouchoud, CEO of Arch Virtual. “Experiences like this show the potential applications for the Oculus Rift and virtual reality that go far beyond video games and interactive entertainment.”

“The new Sacramento Kings arena will be a global benchmark for innovation and technology,” said Kings President Chris Granger. “Arch Virtual’s one-of-a-kind virtual reality tour brings the new arena to life in a way that we couldn’t have done with any other technology or platform. The virtual reality tour is beautifully designed and gives users a full immersive virtual reality tour of the ESC.”

The XC is open to fans interested in purchasing premium tickets at the ESC: http://sacramentoesc.com/premium.php.
