USHCC Foundation to Create its Own Board of Directors; Announces Nina Vaca as Inaugural Chairman of the Board

WASHINGTON--()--The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) officially announced its 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm, the USHCC Foundation, will be forming a new Board of Directors to further develop its current charitable activities and educational programs. In the past four years, the USHCC Foundation has launched numerous successful initiatives including Green Builds Business, Bizfest, the Chamber Training Institute (CTI), and At the Table: Women in Business and Leadership initiative.

Nina G. Vaca, CEO and Founder of Pinnacle Technical Resources, will serve as the USHCC Foundation’s Chairman of the Board. Javier Palomarez will continue to serve as President & CEO of both the USHCC and the USHCC Foundation.

“The USHCC is evolving with the changing face of America. Our responsibility toward America's small business community and Hispanic enterprises requires a more expansive and inclusive approach. As a result, we’ve become the advocate for every Hispanic, every immigrant and every citizen – young and old – whose goal is to earn their share of the American dream,” said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. “As our mission continues to grow, so must our institution. That is why the USHCC is thrilled to appoint Nina Vaca – the consummate American business woman and a highly respected leader in philanthropy, commerce, and advocacy – as Chairman of the USHCC Foundation.”

Last April, Chairman Vaca was appointed by President Barack Obama as an inaugural member of the Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE), an initiative focused on promoting entrepreneurship domestically and internationally.

“Being asked to chair the USHCC Foundation is deeply humbling. I’ve spent my entire life around chambers of commerce. My late father was always involved in his local chapters so this assignment is very special to me,” said USHCC Foundation Chairman Nina Vaca. “The Foundation will focus on equipping tomorrow’s entrepreneurs with the skills and resources they need to lead thriving businesses, create American jobs, enrich local communities and reach their full potential as prospering professionals. I look forward to working with our partners as we begin this new chapter in USHCC history.”

The USHCC Foundation is currently partnered with a variety of major U.S. companies, universities and foundations, including: Bank of America, BNSF Railway, Comcast, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Doral Bank, Facebook, Ford, the Kauffman Foundation, Nielsen, Notre Dame University, and Wells Fargo.

“I’ve valued Nina’s wise counsel and devotion to our mission for many years. She’s served with honor throughout her time on our board, and in her new role as Chairman of the USHCC Foundation, Nina is yet again proving that women deserve a prominent seat at the table,” said USHCC Chairman Marc Rodriguez. “Nina is a living testament to everything our Foundation stands for – her passion and business acumen makes her the best person for the post. We look forward to celebrating the dawn of a new era as Nina and Javier grow the USHCC Foundation to its full potential.”
