MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Any parent will tell you, getting children to brush their teeth is hard, and evaluating how well they are brushing is even harder. But simply adding connectivity and data tracking capabilities isn’t a viable strategy for building an exceptional user experience. That’s why Logic PD’s team of engineers and designers came up with the ImpactBRUSH, designed to help parents evaluate their children’s brushing habits and coach them leveraging Internet of Things technology. The IoT solution was created during a competitive hackathon, the Logic PD ACME-thon, in late April to encourage and nurture innovation.
By combining the ImpactBRUSH’s connected base to any electric toothbrush or floss brush, the device can track metrics including length of time, the angles the toothbrush is used at, and how often it is used. After each brush, and IMPACTScore is assigned based on these metrics and is uploaded to a web portal. Using SeeControl, the team is able to chart historical brushing scores for each child so parents can see improvements in brushing over time.
