Globecomm Announces Commercial Launch of Two New 4G LTE Customers

Regional Carriers, Adams Telephone and Chariton Valley, Leverage Cost-Effective, Innovative Services to Offer Customers 4G LTE

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.--()--Globecomm, a leading global communications solutions provider, announced today that customers, Adams NetWorks, Inc. (Adams) and Chariton Valley have commercially launched 4G LTE services to their customers leveraging Globecomm’s Hosted LTE solutions.

Adams, a regional telecommunications company providing Internet, voice and video services, is now offering its customers in Illinois a full 4G LTE fixed broadband service complete with higher speeds. Adams is one of Globecomm’s first carriers to deploy a 4G LTE hosted hybrid model. Globecomm is hosting the core equipment at its Hauppauge, New York facility with the company’s unique Converged Packet Gateway (CPG) solution located at Adams’ Quincy Data Center. The hybrid network reduces costs and customer data traffic stays local to the Adams network.

Chariton Valley, a locally-owned and operated communications carrier in Northeastern Missouri, has launched a full commercial service for home network subscribers on 700 MHz through Globecomm’s hosted LTE solution. Chariton Valley has been working with Globecomm since 2011 to both reconfigure and expand its network in order to offer more competitive services to its customers and continue to generate revenues.

Globecomm’s hybrid 4G LTE network services provide a reliable, professionally managed LTE core, which enhances both capital savings and operations savings without requiring the carrier to use trained core network operators. Globecomm’s CPG solution is a low-cost managed solution that keeps Internet traffic local to a carrier’s market, reducing expensive backhaul costs over point-to-point fiber or other terrestrial circuits, while providing efficient data access in their network.

“We are excited about our new Lower 700 MHz service offering,” said Jim Simon, general manager, Chariton Valley Family of Companies. “Globecomm has been a trusted partner for many years and we have benefited greatly from the company’s ability to give us multiple network paths and choices. With Globecomm’s solutions, we are now able to offer the latest in high speed wireless broadband services at competitive prices to rural consumers in northern Missouri.”

“Globecomm’s hosted hybrid model was ideal to meet our needs,” said Jim Broemmer, Chief Executive Officer of Adams NetWorks, Inc. “Many rural consumers are lacking the opportunity to receive broadband services. Globecomm enabled us to address this need with a quality broadband solution. Globecomm not only got us up and running with 4G LTE services quickly, but with a network model that both reduces our costs and allows for expansion.”

“There is so much competition in the market today and no one feels that more than the regional and rural carriers,” said Andy Silberstein, senior vice president and general manager of Globecomm Network Services. “We are extremely pleased to have played an integral role in helping two of our trusted carrier customers launch 4G LTE services. These network deployments are an example of how our Hosted LTE solutions can provide regional carriers with a quick, customized and cost-effective path to launching 4G LTE services.”
