RideScout Partners with Zipcar, Optimizes the App in Boston

Transportation aggregator further expands national coverage with addition of leading car sharing company, Zipcar

BOSTON--()--Today RideScout, the technology platform revolutionizing how people find and use ground transportation, announced a national partnership with Zipcar, the “wheels when you want them” car sharing network, as well as app optimization in the Boston Metro Area with 24/7 ride options now available. Free on iOS and Android, RideScout included Zipcar as part of a pilot that will provide users the locations of thousands of cars in 22 markets nationwide available for reservation by Zipcar members.

Beginning today, Bostonians can find and connect with Hailo taxi, Sidecar, Zipcar, Hubway, real-time MBTA bus, MBTA rail, MassPort, and LRTA, as well as walking, driving, and parking with Parking Panda.

“As a graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School, I’m thrilled to announce the addition of our newest national partner in Boston, which also happens to be Zipcar’s homebase,” said Joseph Kopser, Co-Founder and CEO of RideScout. “With 58 schools in the region, we’re confident that RideScout will be a valuable tool for Boston residents and the region’s 20 million visitors.”

RideScout aggregates ground transportation services, including public transit, private options, and social rideshare, allowing people to search and compare options on demand and in real time.

“Increasingly, we’re seeing our own members create a portfolio approach to transportation--picking the right mode for the trip,” said Brian Harrington, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Zipcar. “RideScout will make it easier for our members--and anyone--to get from point A to point B in the most efficient, cost effective and sustainable manner.”

"I am constantly seeking ways to make it easier for people to get around Boston, from late-night trains to more bike lanes,” said Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh. “As we update our Climate Action Plan, we will be looking for new technologies that will make it easier for Bostonians to reduce their carbon footprint.”
