Easter Bunny Surpasses Santa Claus as Most Lovable Holiday Character

Bunny beats Santa by a “hare” with St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun and Valentine’s Day Cupid trailing behind

LOS ANGELES--()--This Easter will be particularly “egg-cellent” for the Easter Bunny, as the long-eared furry character has made history by beating the iconic Santa Claus as the most lovable holiday character in the U.S., according to a consumer survey conducted by E-Score®, a leading consumer research service that provides information to media and entertainment companies.

The narrow victory for the Easter Bunny marks the first time any holiday character has come close to overtaking the legendary man in red. 89 percent of respondents indicated they found the Easter Bunny appealing, compared with 87 percent for Santa Claus, 84 percent for the St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun and a distant 71 percent for the Valentine’s Day Cupid. The survey was conducted among 1,500 persons ages 13-49 with general representation across income, age, education and geographic demographics to represent a cross-section of the U.S. population.

Also revealed in the survey were the top attributes people would use to describe the Easter Bunny, which were “warm,” “approachable,” “exciting,” “unique” and “down-to-earth.”
