Toshiba Is First CT Manufacturer to Meet Security Guidelines of the U.S. Department of Defense for Connection to Air Force Network

TUSTIN, Calif.--()--Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. received approval to operate (ATO) with the U.S. Air Force, making Toshiba the only current manufacturer to have a fully certified CT system for use on the Air Force Network.

By achieving ATO status, Toshiba met the Department of Defense’s stringent guidelines of ensuring protection of Patient Health Information (PHI) and guarding against malware, viruses and malicious attacks. To meet these requirements, Toshiba enhanced its CT platform to include Microsoft Windows 7 and application whitelisting software to proactively identify and prevent viruses and malicious solicitations.

“Toshiba provides the industry with product solutions that fit into any customer’s business needs, including the rigorous cybersecurity requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense,” said Satrajit Misra, senior director, CT Business Unit, Toshiba. “This breakthrough has opened doors to the commercial industry to offer customers access to the same level of security as the U.S. Air Force.”
