Healthcare Engagement Solutions Raises $550,000 in Angel Round Financing

Funding creates technology-based application to enhance communications in healthcare environments and among physicians

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Healthcare Engagement Solutions today announced it has closed a $550,000 angel investment for the company. Funds from this and future financing will be used to further refine the company’s Uniphy suite of mobile technologies that promotes clinical productivity and collaboration. The group of angel investors includes several who are interested in advancing the efficiency of communication among healthcare organizations and physicians.

Uniphy is a secure, cloud-based platform that combines the elements of social media, targeted content, performance metrics, and secure messaging, enabling users to use just one app for their information and communication needs. Improved communication and collaboration is a catalyst for engagement, which can be directly linked to improved clinical outcomes and financial performance. Designed to replace traditional physician portals by providing secure anytime, anywhere access, Uniphy acts as a “virtual doctor’s lounge” that improves communication among organizations with multiple facilities, recently combined clinical populations, and community physicians.

“With our angel financing in place, we now can move forward with implementation at pilot customer sites,” said Chuck French, CEO of Healthcare Engagement Solutions and co-inventor of the patent underlying the Uniphy program. “Validating the Uniphy platform to ensure it meets the communication needs of our target audience of more than four million clinical users is critical. Our experienced team is excited to have this additional funding to finalize our application, which will improve clinical and financial outcomes through better engagement and collaboration among physicians and healthcare organizations.”

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Healthcare Engagement Solutions formed in 2013 and is led by French; George McNulty, president and CTO; and Amy Factor, senior vice president. Long-time healthcare veteran, Tom Wamberg, also assisted in establishing the company and serves on the organization’s board of directors.

The company plans to complete its next round of financing in the third quarter of this year with the expectation of generating an additional $2 million.
