MediaShift and Panasonic Partner to Create New In-Flight WiFi Revenue Opportunities for Airlines

Advertisers Can Reach Engaged and Qualified In-Flight Travelers

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--()--MediaShift, Inc. (OTCBB: MSHF), a next-generation digital advertising technology company, today announced a partnership with Panasonic Avionics, the world’s leading supplier of in-flight entertainment and communication systems, to launch a new WiFi ad platform that generates an ancillary stream of revenue for airlines and that enables brands to reach travelers while in-flight.

Panasonic is utilizing MediaShift’s patented technology to launch AdConnect, a pioneering addition to Panasonic Avionics portfolio of OneMedia Advertising Solutions. AdConnect offers a unique opportunity for airlines to generate advertising revenue throughout the entire duration of an in-flight WiFi session, even after a passenger leaves the airline portal and begins to surf the Web.

MediaShift’s Monetization Platform (MMP) is enabling Panasonic and its airline partners to generate ad revenue by introducing a variety of ad products within a user’s internet WiFi session. Selected ad campaigns will appear within any web page a passenger visits. AdConnect will capitalize on MediaShift’s technology to deliver precise and pinpointed targeting of customer segments. MediaShift’s MMP technology is currently being deployed at over 5,000 hotels in North America and many of the largest U.S. airport WiFi networks.

Through AdConnect, brands can now target and remarket to the highly-desirable in-flight travel audience throughout the entire browsing session. Brands are seamlessly integrated into a user experience through sponsorship and native advertising opportunities. Whether on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone, the AdConnect platform opens the way for premium brands to engage captive airlines passenger audiences.

“Our decision to partner with Panasonic Avionics, the leader in delivering IFEC solutions to the in-flight market was easy. We are excited to have the opportunity to integrate our patented WiFi ad platform with world-class Panasonic solutions,” said David Grant, chief executive officer of MediaShift. “The AdConnect solution powered by MediaShift offers advertisers a tremendous opportunity to reach a highly qualified audience across any device.”

“We are committed to helping our airlines partners extract maximum value from investments they’ve made in our in-flight entertainment and communications solutions. By deploying the AdConnect service, we are able to provide a more personalized experience to passengers, and generate more revenue for our customers,” said Paul Margis, president and chief executive officer of Panasonic Avionics.

AdConnect will be available to airlines that have selected Panasonic’s Global Communications Services. The technology will be available immediately for North America with other regions of the world coming online shortly thereafter.

Initial technology integration activities are limited to the ground integration efforts within Panasonic Global Communications Services, ground network infrastructure. This reduces the complexities of deploying software within the aircraft environment, and avoids the need for Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), and supports a faster time to market for the solution.
