Career Education Announces New College Network; Brings the International Academy of Design & Technology and Brown College under the Sanford-Brown Name

Career-Focused Schools Come Together to Expand Educational Mission

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--()--Career Education Corporation (NASDAQ:CECO) announced today that it is uniting the educational mission of International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT), Brown College and Sanford-Brown to create comprehensive career schools under the Sanford-Brown name.

Bringing these career-focused schools together expands the Sanford-Brown educational mission, allowing the schools to provide more comprehensive programs and resources to students at 18 campuses across the country.

“Each of these schools brings a dynamic set of educational offerings and student services that are focused on helping students succeed,” said Scott W. Steffey, President and CEO of Career Education. “Joining IADT and Brown College under the Sanford-Brown name combines the strengths of these schools together to offer a broader array of programs and resources to help our students reach their educational goals.”

The new Sanford-Brown will include four newly-created schools of study that will allow for greater focus on individual, career-focused disciplines. The School of Health, the IADT School of Design, the School of Technology and the School of Business will form the foundation of the new Sanford-Brown. In time, campuses that currently focus on a single area of study may grow to include other areas of study by adding some or all of these disciplines. These new schools of study will also allow campuses to offer programs that better cater to the needs of prospective students and employers in the local market.

IADT campuses in Las Vegas, Orlando and Seattle will be renamed Sanford-Brown College, as will Brown College in Brooklyn Center and Mendota Heights, Minn. IADT in San Antonio is housed in the same building with Sanford-Brown College, and IADT in Tampa is located near the Sanford-Brown campus there. In these two cities, the two schools will come together under the Sanford-Brown College name. IADT Online will become Sanford-Brown Online while existing Sanford-Brown campuses will retain their current name.

“As we make this transition, we remain committed to continuing to provide a dynamic and supportive environment where students can get the support they need for the success they want,” Steffey said.

As IADT and Brown College join the Sanford-Brown network of colleges and institutes, a new logo has been created to reflect the new Sanford-Brown. Featuring four interlocking links, the logo signifies how the interests of student, school, employer and community are interdependent and united. Sanford-Brown succeeds only when we all succeed.
