BRS Labs Announces Nine Additional U.S. Patents Granted

Over 95 patents granted or pending extends industry dominance in intellectual property

"...these patents cement the fact that no other company in the world can do what BRS Labs is doing when it comes to artificial intelligence analytics."

ISC WEST 2014

HOUSTON--()--Behavioral Recognition Systems, Inc. (BRS Labs), creator of the AISight® platform, the artificial intelligence analytics solution that teaches itself to recognize and alert on unexpected patterns within massive volumes of sensor data, today announced that the U.S. Patent Office has granted nine new patents to the company. BRS Labs now has more than 40 patents granted and 57 pending in the United States of America and around the world, extending the company’s dominance in intellectual property for behavioral recognition solutions in video surveillance, SCADA, network security, and other safety and security applications.

These new patents include:

8,620,028 – A behavioral recognition system for analyzing and learning behavior based on an acquired stream of video frames

8,548,198 – Techniques for identifying anomaly object types during classification of foreground objects extracted from image data

8,494,222 – Techniques for a video surveillance system to learn to recognize complex behaviors by analyzing pixel data using alternating layers of clustering and sequencing

8,493,409 – Techniques for visually conveying a sequence storing ordered string of symbols generated from kinematic data derived from analyzing an input stream of video frames depicting one or more foreground objects

8,416,296 – Techniques for detecting the occurrence of unusual events in a sequence of video frames

8,411,935 – Semantic representation module of a machine-learning engine in a video analysis system

8,379,085 – A sequence layer in a machine-learning engine configured to learn from the observations of a computer vision engine

8,374,393 – Techniques for detecting foreground objects in a scene captured by a surveillance system and tracking the detected foreground objects from frame to frame in real time

8,358,834 – Techniques for learning and modeling a background for a complex and/or dynamic scene over a period of observations without supervision

“While other approaches continually fail in the marketplace, these new patents further illustrate the market-leading technology of BRS Labs and AISight,” said Ray Davis, Chief Executive Officer of BRS Labs. “As they say in Texas ‘it ain’t bragging if it’s true,’ and these patents cement the fact that no other company in the world can do what BRS Labs is doing when it comes to artificial intelligence analytics.”

AISight’s behavioral recognition technology operates seamlessly across unlimited numbers of locations, video surveillance cameras, and data sensors, making AISight the only solution for large-scale safety, security and data deployments. AISight generates relevant real-time alerts by teaching itself to recognize unexpected behaviors as it watches and monitors video surveillance cameras and thousands of other sensors, such as chemical, pressure, and temperature. This self-learning, smarter approach helps users make better, faster, and more informed safety and security decisions without overwhelming staff with large numbers of non-critical alerts.

BRS Labs will be demonstrating AISight® at ISC West 2014, booth # 14127, being held at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, April 2-4.
