DALLAS--()--GEICO announced today that Robert Miller, senior vice president, is returning to Dallas to head the company's regional operation, the office he originally opened for GEICO in 1987. At the same time, Miller will continue to be responsible for GEICO's national actuarial reserving and pricing and underwriting and product management activities.

Miller succeeds Gary Brown, who had served as regional vice president in Dallas since 2002 and will retire at the end of the month after 37 years with GEICO.

"Bob has a wealth of experience both with GEICO and in our Dallas office, so we're really fortunate that he has stepped in to lead our operations in the region," said Tony Nicely, GEICO's chairman and chief executive officer. "Bob has been a huge part of GEICO's growth through the years, and I'm confident that he will continue to build on that success in his new role."

Miller, who joined GEICO in 1965 as an underwriter, has served as regional vice president of several GEICO offices, including Fredericksburg, Va., Virginia Beach, Va., and Woodbury, N.Y. He also helped launch GEICO's Buffalo regional operation, headed the GEICO Insurance Agency and led the company's re-entry into the state of New Jersey.

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Iowa and an M.B.A. from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Ga. He also holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation.
