Southeast Alabama Medical Center Expands Relationship with Iatric Systems

BOXFORD, Mass.--()--Iatric Systems Inc., a comprehensive healthcare IT integration company, today announced it has expanded its relationship with Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) to further leverage the company’s comprehensive integration services.

The Dothan, Ala., hospital has previously worked with Iatric Systems to deploy interfaces between its emergency department information system (EDIS) and its McKesson Horizon Clinicals® hospital information system (HIS), and integrate vital sign monitors from all non-critical care areas into the HIS. As part of the expanded relationship, Iatric Systems will assist the hospital in its upgrade to the McKesson Paragon® HIS by re-integrating the EDIS and vital sign monitors with the new HIS. In addition, Iatric Systems will automate the flow of maternal and fetal records from the GE CentricityTM Perinatal solution into Paragon and integrate additional vital sign monitors with Paragon.

“We have been pleased with the Iatric Systems vital signs integration and how it has improved our workflow,” said Eric Daffron, Southeast Alabama Medical Center Division Director, Information Systems. “We expect to see even more operational efficiency with our expanded relationship.”

By integrating the GE Centricity Perinatal solution with Paragon, mother and infant vital signs, nursing notes, and discrete data elements will be available in the HIS. This will allow SAMC, a 420-bed regional referral center serving approximately 600,000 residents throughout southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle, to enhance patient care and safety by enabling post-partum and nursery clinicians to electronically trace the path of patient care without having to review paper records or re-enter information.

“Iatric Systems embraces the opportunity to identify new ways to help healthcare organizations like Southeast Alabama Medical Center achieve greater care efficiency and improve clinical outcomes by increasing data-sharing capabilities,” said Frank Fortner, president of Iatric Systems. “We are excited for this opportunity to expand our relationship with Southeast Alabama Medical Center so clinicians can access patient data enterprise-wide and make better-informed care decisions.”
