Chicago-based Cloud Solutions Firm Doubling in Size to Meet Escalating Demand

10^th Magnitude saw a 2013 organic growth rate of 42 percent

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--10^th Magnitude, a three-year-old cloud solutions firm in Chicago, is set to double in size this calendar year to meet the rapidly rising demand for cloud technology. The 100 percent bootstrapped company started in late 2010 by Chicago tech scene veteran Alex Brown (formerly with Plural, Dell, and Univa), saw a 2013 organic revenue growth rate of 42 percent.

Since Jan. 1, 2014, 10^th Magnitude has added four new full-time employees, and plans to grow to 30 total by the end of Q1 2015. The company has outgrown its current 22-month-old, 2,600-square-foot office in the West Loop, and is looking for a 5,000-7,500-square-foot location in the same area.

The four employees who have joined in the past six weeks are:

Pete Morano, vice president of application development
Morano, who has 17 years of experience, will manage the development team and lead the technology direction. He most recently served as director of technology at Pluralsight. Prior to that, Morano was the CTO of Key Lime Tie.

Patrick O'Brien, managing consultant
O’Brien will lead 10^th Magnitude’s new Project Management Organization. A seasoned program and project manager, O’Brien comes to 10^th Magnitude from The Private Bank and Trust Company and Acquity Group.

John Smyth, senior consultant IaaS-DevOps
Smyth comes to 10^th Magnitude from Catamaran, where he was a systems and storage engineering manager; prior to that, he was a storage engineer at Kirkland & Ellis and a systems engineering lead at JP MorganChase. Smyth will bring his infrastructure and development skills together in 10^th Magnitude’s IaaS-DevOps practice.

Charles Schwenger, business development manager
Schwenger joins 10^th Magnitude from Grosvenor Capital Management, where he was a solutions center analyst; prior to that, he was a development and operations business analyst at Big Machines. Schwenger will manage 10^th Magnitude’s go-to-market partnership with CDW.
