CSC Digital Brand Services Names Patrick Hauss as a European Regional Director

Based out of CSC’s Paris office, intellectual property expert will focus on helping brand owners manage their digital assets

WILMINGTON, Del.--()--One of France’s leading intellectual property experts has joined CSC Digital Brand Services as a regional director in Europe.

Based in Paris, France, Patrick Hauss is an academic, author, and IP practitioner who has held senior positions at organizations within the domain industry and at major global brands. Most recently he served as consultant to DotParis, the new domain for the French capital.

Hauss was previously responsible for brand protection, trademarks and domain names at Orange and Crédit Mutuel CIC Bank Group. Formerly he was a shareholder and chief commercial officer for a major European domain name registrar.

“This is an exciting and important time in digital brand management and trademark protection, with ICANN’s new gTLDs coming on stream,” Mr. Hauss said. “Brands need to be increasingly vigilant in managing their critical IP assets. CSC Digital Brand Services is a company that is passionate about helping its customers manage and protect their brands online.

“With its global capabilities boosted by the recent acquisition of the Melbourne IT DBS division, CSC is truly a global leader in this space,” Hauss continued. “I’m honored to be part of the CSC team and am looking forward to having the opportunity to help serve CSC’s customers.”

CSC vice president Jim Stoltzfus said, “Patrick’s unique experience spans corporate enterprises, the public sector and academia. We are thrilled to have someone of his caliber join our global management team and look forward to having him use his expertise to help our customers manage their brands.”

Mr. Hauss holds a master’s degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies Law from the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) and is co-author of the book "Naming Strategies: Choosing and Securing Your Internet Domain Names.” He is a member of CYBERLEX, INTA, the AIPPI and the IESAS (European Institute for Advance Security & Safety).
