Sideband Networks Closes $6 Million in Series A Funding for Product Development and Marketing

Momentum Continues for Company Heralded by Media as “Coolest Networking Startup” and “One to Watch” in 2014 with Addition of New Vice President of Engineering

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--Sideband Networks (www.sidebandnetworks.com) today announced it has raised $6 million in Series A funding. The latest financing will be used for product development of Sideband’s application aware network performance monitoring solution as well as ongoing marketing programs as the company expands its reach. Sideband Networks has been riding a wave of momentum since its launch in November 2013, praised by the press for its innovative solution that gives users a complete understanding of their networks.

“Network performance monitoring and analytics continues to become a priority for many companies,” said Zane Taylor, CEO, Sideband Networks. “Our ability to meet that need with the industry’s first unified solution that delivers an unprecedented network view in real time has generated a groundswell of interest from customers, media and investors alike. With this round of funding, we will continue to grow our solution with more features and capabilities, maintaining our vision of bringing true predictive intelligence to our customers.”

Sideband Networks burst onto the SDN scene in late 2013 and was instantly heralded by the press. CRN called Sideband Networks one of the “10 Coolest Networking Startups of 2013,” lauding the company for it ability to compare predicted and historical network traffic models with real-time traffic flows. Enterprise Networking Planet followed suit, naming Sideband Networks one of “Five Networking Startups to Watch in 2014,” acknowledging the company’s single point of management that correlates live and logged data in a unified single pane view. Sideband Networks was also recognized for its solution in several other publications including Network World, Network Computing and Data Informed.

As the company continues to grow, Sideband Networks has appointed Roger Choplin as Vice President of Engineering. In his role, Mr. Choplin is responsible for the design, development, performance and quality of all of Sideband Networks products, including the vXRE Virtual Appliance and XRE Hardware Appliance. Sideband Networks’ application aware network performance monitoring solution meets four key needs that CIOs, network engineers and IT administrators are looking for in a network performance monitoring and diagnostics solution: a single point of management, live traffic analytics, the ability to correlate live data with logged data and dynamic network discovery with a complete network map that allows users the ability to recognize and address network anomalies. By addressing these needs, Sideband Networks has produced the industry’s first unified solution that offers a new perspective on network intelligence.
