RelayHealth Financial Achieves EHNAC HNAP Accreditation

14th Consecutive Year of Accreditation Verifies Adherence to Health Data Processing, Security and Integrity Standards

NEWTON, Mass.--()--Today RelayHealth Financial announced it has achieved full accreditation with the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) for Electronic Health Networks (EHN) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). This accreditation recognizes excellence in health data processing and transactions, and validates compliance with industry standards and HIPAA regulations. It also marks RelayHealth Financial’s 14th consecutive year of EHNAC HNAP accreditation.

“EHNAC HNAP accreditation is more than a ‘seal of approval’ for trusted data exchange in healthcare,” said Michael Whelan, vice president of operations, RelayHealth Financial. “It lets the hospitals and health systems we serve know we’re committed to industry best practices for secure transactions. Our history of maintaining EHNAC and other crucial accreditations is evidence of our dedication to quality. And with each accreditation, we strive to exceed the standards and improve our scores on behalf of our customers.”

Through the consultative review process, EHNAC evaluated RelayHealth Financial in 119 areas of privacy and confidentiality measures, systems availability and security infrastructure, and business practices and resources. EHNAC also reviewed RelayHealth’s Financial’s process of managing and transferring protected health information. The result: RelayHealth Financial meets or exceeds the necessary and optional EHNAC requirements.

“It’s imperative that healthcare organizations embrace the necessary standards, business processes, and technologies to help ensure the privacy, security, and confidentiality of data for all stakeholders,” says Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC. “We applaud RelayHealth Financial for their long history of demonstrating excellence and responsibility to ensuring the security and privacy of health data processing and transactions for their customers.”
