Airpush Appoints Mobile Advertising Veteran Matt Shaw as Chief Revenue Officer

Former Global Head of Mobile Display for Google To Drive Airpush’s Continued Revenue Growth

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Airpush (www.airpush.com), a leading mobile platform ranked #2 on Forbes’ 2014 list of America’s Most Promising Companies, today announced that it has appointed Matt Shaw, the former Global Head of Mobile Display at Google, as its new Chief Revenue Officer, effective immediately. As CRO, Shaw will be responsible for driving global advertising revenue for Airpush as the Company continues along its path of rapid expansion fueled by recent acquisitions, strategic partnerships and innovative product launches.

Prior to serving as Google’s Global Head of Mobile Display, Shaw was Mobile Head of Display, Entertainment as well as the Director of Sales, West Coast, for AdMob from January 2007 through the company’s acquisition in 2009. Earlier in his career, Shaw held senior revenue positions at various world-class consumer internet brands, including YouTube and Yahoo!. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Isenberg School of Management.

“Matt has been a key force in driving the successes of some of the largest and most influential organizations of the modern digital age,” said Asher Delug, Airpush Founder and CEO. “Airpush is a relatively young company that we strongly believe is on track to join these organizations as one of the great advertising brands in digital, and Matt’s desire to come on board both confirms this for us and raises our expectations for the future. He’s also a great fit culturally within our organization, and is the kind of leader who will inspire our entire team.”

“Earning a spot on the Forbes list is a testament to what the Airpush team has accomplished over the past 3 years and only an exciting preview of what lies ahead of us in the ever-expanding mobile advertising space,” Shaw said. “The team’s focus on innovation, mobile privacy, and unlocking publisher value has enabled them to build an unparalleled first-party data layer that will allow us to have a tremendous impact on the next phase of the evolution in mobile advertising. I could not be more excited to be joining this team to help drive the next stage of the company’s growth.”

In January, Airpush was ranked #2 on Forbes’ 2014 List of America’s Most Promising Companies. In October 2013, the company made its first acquisition of native advertising platform Hubbl and earlier this year launched the private mobile ad exchange AirX. Late last year, the company was named a silver winner in Best in Biz Awards in two categories – Fastest Growing Company of the Year and Most Innovative Company of the Year. Airpush also earned a #1 ranking on the 2013 Tech 200 list in September, and was named “One of the Best Places to Work in L.A.” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
