HANOVER, Md.--()--U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) recently visited Tecore Networks, a supplier of innovative American-made 3G and 4G LTE mobile network infrastructure, to meet with employees and learn firsthand about the innovative work the Maryland business is doing globally. The visit earlier this month comes as part of Senator Cardin’s continuing effort to remain in close contact with innovators, entrepreneurs, and leading businesses across Maryland.

“Giant leaps in technology are being made by innovative companies like Tecore right here in Maryland. High-Tech businesses are vital to our state’s economic future and they are making an equally important global impact with the unique capabilities they are deploying around the world,” said Senator Cardin. “I was proud to meet the hard working people who make Tecore among the very best at what they do. Providing Made in the USA wireless communications to underserved areas here in America and throughout the world is incredibly important to both our prosperity and national interest.”

“We were honored to have Senator Cardin visit our company,” said Jay Salkini, President and CEO of Tecore Networks. “Senator Cardin is a powerful voice for businesses and entrepreneurship in the U.S. Senate and he has a deep understanding of the challenges we face competing in a global marketplace and the missions and initiatives that we support across the globe.”

During his visit, Senator Cardin was briefed about Tecore’s recent work with corrections institutions to address the use of contraband cell phones by inmates. Tecore recently deployed its Intelligent Network Access Controller (iNAC)™, technology to support the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services as a countermeasure for contraband cell phones at its Metropolitan Transition Center (MTC) in downtown Baltimore. The iNAC Managed Access solution is capable of controlling inmate’s access to the commercial networks for voice calls, text messages, and Internet access. While approved users are transparently redirected to the commercial service operator, unapproved devices including contraband cell phone are disallowed service. To date, Tecore’s iNAC systems have intercepted millions of attempted calls from contraband cell phones in correctional institutions in the United States.

Senator Cardin was also briefed on Tecore’s RAVEN Platform. Tecore recently announced the immediate availability of its expanded portfolio of RAVENWireless Platforms. Designed to enhance rapid response capabilities for a wide array of government agencies, RAVEN platforms are cutting edge mobile wireless systems, deployable in any environment where establishing rapid communications dominance is imperative. The RAVEN system has been a difference maker for U.S. Troops on the battlefield.
