Time Warner Cable SportsNet Launches Second Screen Experience for Live Los Angeles Lakers Game Telecasts

Updated “TWC SportsNet” app gives fans new levels of access to exclusive, mobile content and interactive features; thousands of Lakers fans have used the second screen application

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--()--Time Warner Cable SportsNet has launched a second screen experience that brings Southern California sports fans even more in-depth access to the Los Angeles Lakers during live game telecasts on the network. The updated “TWC SportsNet” app provides second screen users with exclusive, real-time content during live Lakers games and all pre- and post-game shows on the network, enhancing fans’ viewing experiences with companion content.

Second screen features include interviews, behind-the-scenes content, instant replays, interactive prompts, player and game facts, poll questions, game stats, scores from around the NBA and live Twitter chatter about the Los Angeles Lakers. For iPad users, the application also offers a picture-in-picture feature that allows fans to interact with the second screen and watch the game on their tablet at the same time.

Since its launch, thousands of fans have used the second screen application, with each user taking advantage of the application’s advanced interaction capabilities.

Fans have access to the new, interactive second screen experience on their iPhone or iPad by selecting the “TWCS 2NDSCREEN” tab in the “TWC SportsNet” application. To access the second screen features, fans must be authenticated Time Warner Cable SportsNet users, have the most updated version of the TWC SportsNet application and be within the Time Warner Cable SportsNet territory.
