BritWeek and UKTI 2014 Business Innovation Awards Competition Now Open for Entry and Nominations

LOS ANGELES--()--BritWeek and UK Trade & Investment are pleased to announce that the fifth annual BritWeek UKTI Business Innovation Awards competition, presented by Virgin Atlantic Airways, is now underway. Nominations from companies doing business in both UK and CA are welcome now until March 7th. Winners will be recognized in four innovative categories: Technology, Product Design, Business Service, and Social Impact, and will be presented with awards during a dinner hosted at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.

Why the awards? Why UK and California?

“These Awards highlight the extraordinary depth and breadth of the creative bond between the UK and California,” said BritWeek Chairman Bob Peirce. “In business, as in the arts and entertainment, great ideas and great talent from Britain and California are always coming together to create new ways for people to work, live and play.”

“There is nothing else on earth that comes close to the magnitude and quality of innovation that stems from the UK and California; working in tandem merely magnifies the best in each other. These awards are designed to highlight the very best of the UK/California business community and how by working on both sides of the Atlantic they are accomplishing extraordinary things,” said Fiona Francois, UKTI Director in the Western United States and BritWeek Board Member.

“Innovation is at the heart of Virgin Atlantic, it has been since day one and we are continually looking at new ways to enhance our customer’s experience. We recognize the great importance of exploring new ideas and challenging convention. The Innovation Awards are a fantastic way to bring together great innovators from both sides of the Atlantic, and we’re proud to be a partner,” said Chris Rossi, Senior Vice President, North America, Virgin Atlantic.

For the 2014 BritWeek UKTI Business Innovation Awards we enthusiastically welcome back our judges creativity guru Sir Ken Robinson, Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum, Walt Disney International Chairman Andy Bird, and Los Angeles television anchor and producer Carlos Amezcua.
