FRANKLIN, Tenn.--()--HealthTech today announces a change in its corporate name to MEDHOST, Inc. and reintroduced its portfolio of healthcare technology products and services under the MEDHOST brand. The changes symbolize MEDHOST’s fully integrated approach to serving healthcare providers with technologies and services internally developed and acquired through strategic investments over a period of more than three years. MEDHOST is well-positioned in the healthcare technology industry and has expanded its market share while broadening its portfolio of consulting services, SaaS-based and mobility solutions, and hosted IT services. Concurrent with the rebranding, Craig Herrod has been named president of MEDHOST, Inc. with responsibility for consolidated software development and operations and sales and marketing.

“We grew to this point by combining companies, solutions and services into a unified product that helps hospitals and health systems achieve their goals. Unifying our offerings under the highly recognizable MEDHOST brand is the next logical step in our company’s evolution,” said Bill Anderson, chairman and CEO of MEDHOST, Inc. “Our Customers, ranging from community hospitals to very large healthcare corporations and systems, have responded positively to the unified MEDHOST branding.”

Herrod, a well-respected and tenured healthcare industry executive, was the president and CEO of HealthTech’s MEDHOST subsidiary where he led the company in its growth from a struggling entrepreneurial company to the leading provider of emergency department technology. He was instrumental in its acquisition by HealthTech in 2010.

“Craig’s deep healthcare experience and his outstanding leadership skills made him a natural selection as president, especially now as MEDHOST is poised to capitalize on its investments by embarking on new opportunities for growth, innovation and even greater industry leadership,” Anderson said. “I am confident that Craig will convert MEDHOST’s resources and business strategy into tangible benefits for our Customers, employees and investors, while driving innovative and end-user-focused solutions that help providers deliver better care.”

“We are incredibly focused on the future needs of our diverse healthcare market and on driving value for our Customers with both our traditional and new hosted solutions. The MEDHOST brand truly reflects who we are as a company and where we are headed,” said Herrod. “Our solutions will continue to be flexible, easy to implement, and easy to use, which is how MEDHOST creates Customer satisfaction. The healthcare market today is being challenged by rapid change due to new regulatory requirements, constrained budgets and declining reimbursements. Having one brand helps MEDHOST and our enterprise, departmental and healthcare engagement solutions and services be more easily identified and understood by providers of all types and sizes.”

The company’s enterprise, departmental and healthcare engagement software and services previously were marketed under brands including HMS (Healthcare Management Systems), Patient Logic, and MEDHOST, which reflects HealthTech’s history of investing in technology that creates value for providers and patients alike.
