Plotagon Lets Anyone Create Original Animated Holiday Greetings and Short Movies for Just $3.99

STOCKHOLM--()--Swedish startup, Plotagon, has just launched a $3.99 (USD) Christmas content pack that can be added to its free beta application. The Plotagon application enables users to make instant, 3D animated movies and greetings just by typing a script. Users can then share their original creations as “Christmas cards” via email, Facebook and Twitter. Knowledge of animation is not necessary and users can see how it works via examples and how-to videos.

Plotagon software works on Macs and PCs. The free version includes the City Pack with five characters and six 3D environments (similar to sitcom settings). The Christmas Pack includes Santa and Mrs. Claus along with three new settings: Santa’s workshop, a snowy rooftop, and a living room with a Christmas tree. Content packs can be purchased from within the application after it has been installed.

To create a Plotagon movie or greeting, users simply choose characters and an environment, type a script, add a few stage directions and press “play.” The animated characters speak the lines users write for them and perform actions as directed.

Plotagon launched the Stan Lee Superhero Pack in November for $9.99, featuring four new superhero characters and Stan Lee himself as a character. Lee is a legend in the comic book industry for co-creating characters such as Spider-Man™, The Incredible Hulk™, X-Men™ and Iron Man™. Unlike other characters, Lee’s character speaks specific phrases in his actual voice.

In September, Plotagon launched the Alice in Wonderland pack for $9.99. It includes characters and settings based on the classic Lewis Carroll tale. A Pride and Prejudice pack will be available in early 2014 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the acclaimed novel by Jane Austin.

All Plotagon movies can be shared and viewed at Plotagon.com/movies and Youtube. Characters and environments from all content packs can be used in any combination with each other. For example, the Mad Hatter could interact with Santa and a superhero in Santa’s workshop.

Plotagon was started in 2011 and launched its first public beta August 2013. It is based in Stockholm, Sweden with an office in Los Angeles.
