Quarri Announces Its Next Era ‘Armored Browser’ Product to Combat Today’s Sophisticated Web Based Attacks

New product addresses malware across the enterprise

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Quarri™ Technologies, a leading web information security software company that empowers organizations to keep their sensitive data secure, today launched its new Armored Browser™, a multifunctional secure browser that protects enterprise’s endpoints from being infected by malware. The product combats the growing number of strands of malware that are successfully infecting enterprises on a daily basis. More and more enterprise attacks are occurring because of the current challenges signature-based anti-virus products have in detecting today’s threats.

“Given the unprecedented level of malicious malware strains launched monthly (estimated at over 2,000,000), Quarri’s next era Armored Browser is simply a must-have for all businesses, universities and government entities. The threat is real and evolving exponentially,” said Bill Morrow, CEO and executive chairman, Quarri Technologies. “With Quarri’s Armored Browser, Quarri has delivered technology that is more robust than traditional anti-virus solutions and is helping enterprises meet the evolving threat landscape. We look forward to enabling companies to enforce secure browser sessions to keep their corporate infrastructure free of malware.”

According to a recent PandaLabs Q1 report, 31 percent of global PCs are infected with malware.1 Additionally, in Q1 2013, more than 6.5 million new malware samples were created, showing a dramatic increase in the development of sophisticated malware strains. It has been widely reported that browsers are the weakest link in IT security and pose the greatest risk to enterprises.

Quarri’s latest technology, the Armored Browser, blocks malware from getting on the corporate endpoint. Quarri’s Perimeter Shield™ isolates the browser session protecting sensitive information from already infected end points and helps to combat the pre-existing global infection rate. Finally, Quarri’s Data Safe™ gives the data owner the ability to isolate and control all digital forms of replication of the browser delivered information, including support for mobile devices.

“Signature based anti-malware products are becoming less effective because of the thousands of new malware exploits that appear every day,” said Andy Kellett, principal analyst at Ovum.

A frequent issue for companies is restricting access to social networking sites due to the risks of malware or employees uploading data into sites that they should not. With Quarri’s Armored Browser, companies can now allow employees to browse securely no matter what sites are visited.
