Strayer University Announces Tuition Reduction, Builds on ‘Graduation Fund’ to Further Increase College Affordability and Promote Graduation

One-of-a-kind tuition model supports students from start to finish

HERNDON, Va.--()--Strayer University, a postsecondary institution that has served working adults for 120 years, today announced that it is combining two affordability measures to offer students an up to 40 percent reduction in tuition. Upon enrollment, new undergraduate students will receive an immediate 20 percent tuition savings, as well as begin to accrue Tuition Awards in their Graduation Fund to cover the cost of one future class for every three that are successfully completed. Strayer University’s combined tuition reduction program is available for new undergraduate students.

“College affordability and the ability to persist through to graduation continue to be among the biggest challenges facing working adults when going back to school,” said Michael Plater, Ph.D., president of Strayer University. “For this reason, Strayer University maintains an ongoing focus on finding ways to open the doors of education to all and minimize obstacles to graduation. The new tuition reduction program is designed to achieve this by supporting our students from beginning to end of their academic journeys.”

Strayer University’s combined tuition reduction program applies to all new undergraduate students enrolling for Winter 2014 and future terms. Winter classes begin on Monday, January 6, 2014.

There is no paperwork to complete and no competition against other students to receive the benefits of the reduced tuition. In addition, there is no limit on the number of students who can participate and no expiration date as long as students continue their enrollment and remain in good academic standing.

“Strayer University’s 120-year legacy is founded on our ability to innovate and re-imagine higher education in significant and meaningful ways,” said Karl McDonnell, chief executive officer of Strayer Education, Inc. “Through our new reduced tuition program, we are again innovating to help make college more affordable and accessible, while creating a supportive learning environment and culture of completion that rewards students for their commitment.”

Celebrating more than 120 years since its founding in Baltimore in 1892, Strayer University offers relevant and rigorous academic programs to working adults, preparing them for success in today’s competitive job market. Strayer University graduates earn degrees in programs ranging from business administration to accounting, education and information systems and technology.
