The Ferrous Scrap Price Index (SPI) is released daily and is based on domestic and export steel scrap prices from key North American cities; it also includes a National Index and Iron Ore prices. The index is compiled by seasoned journalists with decades of experience covering the North American steel markets.

Also included with this subscription are News Flashes and Featured Articles, both of which are periodically delivered via email. News Flashes include breaking news stories in North America, and Featured Articles, generally released quarterly, which highlight various aspects of the marketplace. The National Index includes, but is not limited to metals such as no. 1 heavy melt, no. 1 busheling, no. 1 dealer bundles, shredded scrap, plate & structural, clean auto cast, and machine shop turnings.

Domestically, prices are reported from, but not limited to major markets that include Birmingham, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and St Louis. Import and Export prices cover the East and West Coasts, as well as Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe. Production numbers from the United States are also included along with other statistics.
