Metrodigi Unveils Chaucer 2.0 at the Frankfurt Book Fair

Award-Winning Digital Bookmaking Software Utilized to Create Best Sellers

Frankfurt Book Fair

FRANKFURT, Germany--()--Metrodigi®, a leading eBook software company, introduced Chaucer 2.0, the fastest cloud-based eBook conversion engine. The company also announced the availability of new interactive books produced in partnership with Time Books and Oxmoor House.

Chaucer 2.0 enables publishers to develop, manage and publish interactive digital content quickly and cost-effectively. Key features include batch processing for large volume projects, advanced templates and design tools for layout editing, the new eyeFrame tool that enables comics publishers to create interactive panel navigation, specialized widget sets for educational publishers (including customizable features), and robust asset metadata for more powerful digital asset management.

“IDPF develops the EPUB format for digital publications based on HTML5 and the Open Web Platform. But an open standard is only as good as the authoring tools that authors and publishers can use to create compatible content,” said Bill McCoy, president of the International Digital Publishing Forum. “Metrodigi’s Chaucer 2.0 is a major step forward for EPUB 3 that can keep today's publishers relevant and competitive.”

“We’ve taken Chaucer to the next level with version 2.0 to meet the fast-growing and ever-changing needs of the publishing world,” said Steven McKinney, CEO of Metrodigi. “Book readers everywhere are excited about great stories enhanced by amazing interactivity. Chaucer makes creating this content extremely easy for publishers—and even self-publishers.”

The newly released Time titles produced with Chaucer 2.0 include Inside the Red Border: A History of Our World Told Through the Pages of TIME; Cooking Light Lighten Up, America!: Favorite American Foods Made Guilt-Free; and Southern Living: No Taste Like Home: Celebrating Local Flavors from Across the South. All are available at major bookstores including Apple, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble. These new titles follow the recent release of the Guinness World Records 2014 eBooks also created using the new Chaucer 2.0.

Metrodigi is exhibiting at the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany through Oct. 13 in Hall 8.0, Stand F91. Its clients include: Time Home Entertainment, NBC, McGraw-Hill, Guinness World Records, Pearson, Yale University Press, Taschen, CourseSmart and HarperCollins.
