Houston CPA Society Hosts Young Professionals Conference

HOUSTON--()--The Houston CPA Society will host the second annual Young Professionals Conference on October 17, 2013 at their offices (777 Post Oak Blvd, Suite 500).

Cathy Nunnally will discuss “Brain Rules for Smarter Thinking” where attendees will walk away with practical ways to consciously change their lives for the better based on a deeper understanding of how the brain works. Session takeaways will cover the delusion of multi-tasking, the keys to effective presentations and tips to improve memory.

Glenn Smith will give his presentation “Time Management for Busy Professionals.” There is increasingly more to do and less time to do it. Attendees will discover how to more effectively manage priorities, tasks, emails and projects.

Dustin Peterson will focus on “Strengths Based Leadership” which will identify attendees’ unique talents and adding knowledge and skill to develop them into strengths. Participants will leave knowing what they do best and will have created an action plan for how to do more of it in their profession to achieve greater results.

The conference will also feature a Business Etiquette presentation and a panel of professionals who have dealt with fraud in the workplace where attendees will learn more about the red flags to be aware of, how culture can lead to fraud, and how you as a young professional can easily get caught up in career ending issues. We have professionals who worked at Enron, Stanford, and an expert in fraud detection and prevention.
